Yes, in two quite different formats, and the more useful question is which one suits you.
But there is a concern sitting underneath this search that deserves answering first, because most people asking it are really asking something else: does online training actually work for a subject like this?
NLP involves reading physiology. Noticing shifts in someone as they happen. Running processes with a real person in front of you. It is reasonable to wonder whether any of that survives a screen.
So let me answer that properly before describing the formats.
Does Online Work for NLP?
The honest answer is that it works well, and for reasons that took us some years to appreciate fully.
You can read people through a screen. Not identically, and the skill adapts rather than transfers. But facial detail is often clearer on video than from the back of a room, and breathing, color changes and shifts in posture are all visible. What you lose in peripheral information you partly gain in proximity.
You will be working through screens anyway. A great deal of professional coaching, consulting and leadership now happens on video. Developing your calibration in that medium is an advantage rather than a compromise, and practitioners trained entirely in person often find the transition harder than they expect.
There is nowhere to hide. In a physical room you can sit quietly at the back for a while. On screen you are visible throughout, which most participants find more demanding and more useful.
The room is international. A single cohort routinely spans several continents. That produces variation in how people understand and apply the material that you would never get from a locally recruited group, and watching that variation is a real part of the learning.
Travel stops being the barrier. Certification used to mean leaving your work and family for an extended period, often in another country. For a great many capable people, that was the reason they never did it.
What online does not remove is the need to practice with real people on real issues. That part is unchanged, and it is built into the format.
The Two Online Formats
| NLP Practitioner Live Online | Easy NLP | |
| Format | Live, scheduled, with a Tad James Company Master Trainer | Self-paced, on demand |
| Pace | Intensive block | Your own schedule |
| Practice | With other participants, in session | Worked through independently, with coach review available |
| Interaction | Live demonstration, questions, correction | Structured material you move through yourself |
| Leads into Master Practitioner | Yes, directly | Yes, with coach review beforehand |
| Best for | People who want immersion and a live room | People fitting study around existing commitments |
| Cost note | Standalone certification | Provided free to Master Practitioner enrollees |
Both cover the foundational material. The difference is how you take it in, not how much of it you get.
Insider Tip From Dr Adriana James: Choose the format that matches your life rather than the one that sounds more serious. I have watched people book an intensive block they could not really afford to take, arrive exhausted and distracted, and get less from it than they would have from working steadily through the same material at their own pace. The best format is the one you will actually be present for.
What NLP Practitioner Live Online Involves
The live format is intensive and it is built around doing rather than listening.
Demonstration. Processes are run in front of the group with a real person and a real issue, not a hypothetical. What is being taught is at least as much in the small adjustments as in the process itself.
Practice with other participants. You run the processes, with someone working on something genuine, while the work is observed.
Correction. You are told what you actually did rather than what you intended. Specific and behavioral.
Repetition. Then again, with the correction applied.
The foundational material covers rapport, sensory acuity, language patterns, anchoring, submodalities and state management, taught alongside Time Line Therapy®, hypnosis and coaching. The current training schedule lists dates and formats.
What Easy NLP Involves
Easy NLP is the self-paced route into the same foundations.
You work through structured material on your own schedule, which suits people who cannot clear an intensive block, who are studying around work and family, or who prefer to absorb things gradually rather than in a concentrated burst.
Two things worth knowing about it.
It leads directly into Master Practitioner, with a review alongside a Tad James Company coach beforehand to confirm you are ready and fill any gaps. This route is more common than people expect.
It is provided free to anyone enrolling in Master Practitioner, which makes it useful as a refresher as well as an entry point. Practitioners who certified years ago and have not used the material much frequently use it that way.
Did You Know? Self-paced and live formats produce comparable outcomes when the self-paced version includes structured practice and a point of human review. The variable that matters most is not the delivery format but whether the learner actually works through the material rather than only watching it, which is why the coach review exists.
What You Need to Supply
Whichever format you choose, some things are on you.
- A workable setup. Reliable connection, a camera you are willing to use, and somewhere you can speak freely. The last one matters more than people anticipate, because you will be working on real material.
- Willingness to be visible. Hiding behind a switched-off camera removes most of the value.
- Practice outside the sessions. Running processes on yourself, and with other graduates where you can arrange it.
- Honesty about your own material. NLP is not learned at arm’s length. The processes are run on real issues, and yours are the ones available.
Which Format Suits Which Person
Live online suits you if you learn best with other people present, you want the immersion, you want practice partners built in, or you intend to move directly into Master Practitioner afterwards, which the schedule is built to allow.
Easy NLP suits you if your schedule will not accommodate an intensive block, you prefer working at your own pace, you are refreshing something you certified in years ago, or you are heading toward Master Practitioner anyway and want to use the included access.
Neither is the lesser option. If you are genuinely unsure, speak with a Tad James Company coach and they will tell you which most people in your situation choose and why.
A Note on Time Zones
Some of our live training runs across intake options in different regions so that participants are not routinely sitting through sessions in the middle of their night.
If your working hours are unusual or you are in a region not obviously covered, ask rather than assume. The team can tell you what is scheduled and what has worked for others in similar positions.
How You Would Use This Tomorrow
- Test your setup on a video call before you commit to anything
- Identify where you could speak freely during a session, which is a genuine constraint for some households
- Look at the schedule and check what actually fits your next three months
- Ask about your time zone rather than ruling yourself out
- Decide honestly whether you would be present for an intensive block or whether self-paced is the realistic choice
Frequently Asked Questions
Can you complete NLP Practitioner training online?
Yes, in two formats. NLP Practitioner Live Online is a live intensive certification, and Easy NLP is self-paced and on demand. Both cover the foundational material. There’s nothing stopping you completing Easy NLP in a weekend.
Is online as good as in person?
It is different rather than lesser. You lose some peripheral information and gain proximity, international variation in the room, and the chance to develop calibration in the medium most professional work now happens in, however it is an excellent foundation ahead of live NLP Master Practitioner training.
Will I actually get to practice?
Yes. Live online builds practice with other participants into the sessions. With Easy NLP you work through the material independently, with coach review available.
Can I go into Master Practitioner after online Practitioner training?
Yes, from either format. Easy NLP requires a coach review beforehand to confirm you are ready.
Is Easy NLP a lighter version?
No. It covers the same foundational material in a self-paced format. Many students choose it because it fits around work and family rather than because they want something smaller.
Do I have to turn my camera on?
Effectively yes. The training depends on being seen and on seeing others, and participating with the camera off removes most of what you came for.
What if my time zone is awkward?
Ask. Intake options run across regions where possible and the team can tell you what is scheduled.
Where To Go From Here
If you are not sure which format fits, that is a short conversation rather than a research project. Speak with a Tad James Company coach and they will point you at the right one.
